Weather Emergencies and School Closings

Our Notification Commitment

We understand that weather-related schedule changes can significantly impact your family's plans. Therefore, our commitment is to inform you as quickly as possible once a decision has been made. We strive to make and communicate these decisions in a timely manner to give all stakeholders ample time to adjust schedules and plans. 

The District utilizes a comprehensive system to ensure you receive school-closing and delay alerts as quickly as possible.  The District uses ParentSquare as our notification system to send direct alerts to our parents, guardians, and staff, using the current contact information on file in PowerSchool.


Possible Weather Adjustments

When inclement weather necessitates a change to the regular schedule, one of the following adjustments will be announced:

  • School Closure: All school activities and classes are canceled for the day.
  • Late Opening: School opening and bus schedules are delayed by two hours.
  • Early Dismissal: School will close early, and students will be transported home on an adjusted bus schedule. *The district will work to align dismissals with the regular early dismissal schedule, but when worsening conditions prevent this from being prudent, the updated dismissal times will be shared within the notification.

We encourage families to complete the Annual Student Update each school year, or when emergency contact information has changed. (Phone numbers, email addresses, etc.)
